Shaping the Next Generation of Family Business Leaders

Sidhya Senani addressed the inaugural session for ISB’s MFAB Class of 2027, sharing her own journey as a Gen 3 family business member with 122 next-gen leaders beginning their 15-month governance and leadership journey.

MFAB Class of 2027

A uniquely designed program originally curated by Kavil Ramachandran to equip next-gen family business members with both business and family governance skills — combining classroom rigor with real, lived experience.

01

122 Next-Gen Leaders

An energetic, inquisitive cohort of rising-generation members from family businesses across India, gathered for the start of their MFAB journey.

02

15-Month Journey

A structured program blending business acumen with the softer, harder work of family governance — designed to carry participants from classroom to boardroom.

03

Class of 2027

Hosted at the Indian School of Business, this inaugural session set the tone for a cohort preparing to carry their family legacies forward.

A Gen 3 Voice in the Room

Sidhya opened the inaugural session by sharing her own story as a third-generation member of a family business — speaking candidly to a room of youngsters carrying the same questions she once did about carving out an identity while honoring what came before.

Addressing a cohort as inquisitive and energetic as this one, eager to take ahead the mantle of their family legacies, was, in her words, truly gratifying.

“Sharing about my own journey as a Gen 3 family business member with an inquisitive and energetic bunch of youngsters… was truly gratifying.”

#NextGen needs to be the change agents in pursuing the universal goals of individual happiness, family togetherness, and business growth for their family businesses.

A Warm Welcome from ISB

The session closed with a token of appreciation from the ISB team — a fitting close to a morning spent connecting two generations’ worth of experience with the ambitions of a new one.

For BAF Consultants, moments like these are a reminder of why the work of guiding family businesses through succession and governance matters — one cohort, one conversation at a time.

Acknowledgments

Thanks to the ISB team for the invite — Abdul Azeez and Saniya Arora — and to Kavil Ramachandran for curating a program that continues to shape how India’s next generation leads its family businesses.
